etude house for the masks. i like them. losts of moisturizing components/mixtures.
as for facial care i tend to go to the face shop. they have a toner that contains a certain oil. you shake it, apply it, doesnt leave any oily film or residue on your skin. the skin absorbs is quickly and absorbs it all.
as make up usually dries out my skin, i also bought the gel cream that goes with the toner. very effective. actually, love it.
make up wise.. i have to agree, clinique is very good. i only use their super moisture make up and it does what it promises. it keeps my skin super moist and my teint fresh.
but be aware that korea's clinique most likely wont carry your skin tone. they either are super dark here or super bright. something in the middle is non existant. or, i havent found it yet. |

Anyone have a good recommendation for foundation? I'm about 2 days from empty.
I've been using Etude House Precious Mineral BB cream and it's been so-so. The finish isn't as "dewy" as I would like.
I'm looking for something that blends naturally but still covers well and has a nice "moist" finish. My skins been looking a little bit nicer with the warmer weather, but I wouldn't mind helping it along with a good BB cream/tinted moisturizer.
Incidentally, I am very pale but with olive skin tones (tan easily, but wear block) and have found Korean makeup colors work better than most western brands where pale equates to pink undertones and olive equates to tan.
Anyone in a similar ship have a suggestion? |

I love AC Cure BB Cream from Baviphat. However I like it because it is pinker than the other BB creams I've tried. I also like Magic Girls BB Cream from Baviphat, for its solid matte finish. (It's too beige-y, so I just use it to cover blemishes.) So we want different things obviously.
But before this I was using Gingko Green BB Cream from Skin Food. It is more beige than pink and has no SPF, which I didn't notice when I bought it and is a huge downside for me. I don't understand "dewy" finish, but I felt kind of moist and greasy when wearing it. (Probably because I had to apply a layer of sunblock underneath.) Despite these terrible failings, I still managed to use up half the tube so give it a try. |

Went to Skin Food today and got the Agave cactus sun BB cream. It has SPF 36 which should be good. It also smells delish!
The lovely woman working gave me a bunch of sample (3 bags each containing 3 pouches). I know this is standard, but still very nice. I tried out the Black Sesame Hot Mask and my skin feels very nice. The pores are looking cleaner IMO. I'll see how the BB cream turns out tomorrow.
Incidentally, I tried both shades that the BB cream is available in and they both looked really great and blend naturally. Korean makeup colors are ace for pale olive women. I highly recommend. |

im not sure any of these products actually works. The best you can do is avoid sunlight, eat lots of fruits and vegetables and hope for the best.
There is also botox and surgery if you really want to accomplish anything significant. If you are going to spend that much money each month, you my as well save up and do something that will actually work. |

Your name is so fitting with your post.
I agree, there's no point blowing a whole load of $$$ on skincare. Your skin absorbs hardly any of it, not to mention, all of the 'amazing' ingredients in fancy skincare have no benefits unless they are injected or ingested by your body. Putting them on your skin has no effect. Just make sure you stay away from anything that'll be harsh on your skin...doesn't matter if the products are cheap or not! |

SPF definitely works, based on if I go out without it my skin turns red and hurts, but if I use it I am fine. |

| SPF moisturizer does work. Try to keep the ingredients list short and sweet. You can go as low maintenance as rubbing fresh olives on your skin every night, if you can find decent ones. I used to do this a few times per week back home in the winter for some extra moisture. |

Well I am sure it's worth a shot! I myself am blessed to have quite good skin 'pats herself on the back', but I appreciate home-made tonics. My favourite idea for a mask ever is this: http://www.ehow.com/how_4416483_honey-aspirin-face-mask.html
hmmm, maybe someone should make a 'diy' beauty product thread... |

Umm
I spent a month here without any skin products (specifically moisturizer) between when mine ran out and when I got some sent. (I was very timid in those stores back then and terrified of buying something wrong out of guilt.) Anyway, in that time my skin was utter trash. It was dry but also kept getting really oily (which of course makes sense because my skin was overproducing oil). I had breakouts more frequently, and the overall tone was more uneven. My undereye circles were more pronounced as well before I started using my eyecream.
It's not miracles, it's maintenance. Of course drinking ungodly levels of water and eating lots of green veggies and carrots help too. But I think a good daily scrub and moisturizer make a big difference as well. I see these products as being as necessary as body lotion, soap, conditioner, toothpaste, etc. |

I'm a very low-maintenance gal and just recently started really paying attention to skincare. I still struggle with acne (at 23) even though I wash twice daily and moisturize. Any suggestions?
Laneige has been recommended to me before, something about their toner was supposed to be great, but it looks like just about anything mid-range will do the trick (I'm not up for spending 100-200 every two months for skincare, but I'm not too cheap either... Clinique is my preferred makeup manufacturer). What do you ladies think? |
