I have an interview with a school in Incheon tonight. Does anyone live there? What's it like? I lived in Seoul for about 2 years and loved it. I stopped by Incheon a few times and it seems like a pretty cool place to live.

What do you guys think?

you've answered your own question. If you didn't mind your visits than it shouldn't bother you.

Just know, the farther you get from Seoul, the longer the intervals between the trains and the earlier you've got to get out of Seoul.

Example line 5: your in Gwannamun and you want to get to sangil dong or macheon. Train intervals are 5-10 minutes. After 10:30-11:00 +, train intervals jump to 15-20 minutes. But, you can still get on the subway at 11:30 and you can get home.

Line 1: Intervals are 10-15 Minutes +. And you've got to be out of the city by 10:30 or you won't make it home. Plus there's train delays during heavy rain and snow. With the underground rails, that's not a problem.

It's pretty decent. I prefer it to Seoul, as you tend to get a larger apartment if working for the PS system. If I do stay in Seoul overnight, I stay at a friend's or, more often, a jimjilbang.

Try to be near Bupyeong, Gueldong (aka Art Center), or Juan, if possible.

Search daves for "incheon." All kinds of info already available. Much of incheon is a sewer, but good areas can be found. Guwol dong, bupyeong, gyesan...

Like the rest of the country, there's no shortage of places to get smashed or get a rub-down.

Samwha busses, the orange ones, run past midnight and will take you to different parts of Incheon-running out of Seoul Station, Shinchon, Ewha Uni station, hongdae and hapjeong.

It's cool I enjoyed my time there. Plenty to do and easy access to Seoul.

Samwha buses rock! Incheon is fine, just try to avoid places like Seo-Gu which is sticks.

I have been here for the last 7 days and find it to be small and quiet. The noise pollution is nothing compared to Seoul as is the air quality. If you want western food you wont find much here. Overall, I like it and have seen many westerners in Airport City.

Incheon has a strange and different vibe to Seoul in my opinion. I lived in Bundang last year, and miss it a lot living in Incheon. I am right next to the Arts centre here and just find the area more depressing for some reason. I guess it entirely depends where in Seoul your coming from and where you will be when you get here.

On the plus side, apartments are normally cheaper/bigger. Also your job here is likely to be a little more easy going.

Hope it works out for you.

Incheon's is fine, it can get a little boring/ repetitive at times, but overall my experience has been positive. With that said, I prefer Seoul.

Listen to the others, Bupyeong and Art Center area for living.

Moving to Incheon in 2 weeks, I'll be near Bupyeong so hopefully I will like it.
Other than bars, where else do other foreigners hang out?

I lived for a year near Inha university. It was a bit industrial there (as is a lot of the city) but some parts are nice. I like the Shin-Se-Ge / Lotte World area.

Yeonsu dong is not a bad spot either. It's clean, and has a fair number of bars, restaurants, and stuff to do. Guwol dong is very close, and like the rest of Incheon there are the Samwha buses so it's very easy to get to Seoul, or to anywhere else when you consider that it's maybe all of a 15 minute drive or a short subway ride to the bus terminal in Guwol dong, and going the other way you can take the 103 bus to the airport.
