Where am I more likely to find better deals on clothes? I usually shop at Big Boss in Itaewon but I have heard that there is some good shopping in Namdaemun also. I am really just looking for basics like jeans and t-shirts and I don't want to spend a lot of money. Thanks for any suggestions.

And before it gets started - Yes, I asked where to find large-sized women's clothing. Please note that I did not ask for insults, suggestions to lose weight, suggestions on how to lose weight, nutrition information, health statistics, information on the benefits of exercise, or anything else not directly related to how I can find my way to a clothing store. The size/weight/exact proportions anyone has, prefers, or fantasizes about in a woman are none of my concern.

*Exhales*

Ok, I think that covers everything.

Have you tried OKBT in Itaewon? It covers the basics - T.shirts, shorts, jeans, dresses - pretty much everything. The girl in there is pretty good at picking out things to fit and you can try it all on there too. If you are short like me and need to have things altered they will do that at no extra charge and can do it the same day (if you are there in the morning and can pick up in the afternoon) or the next day. They are really good priced too. Its on the 2nd floor above a shoe store. Cant remember the name of the shoe store, but if you look up you will see the big OKBT sign. Its on the same side of the road as the Hamilton. Hope this helps Smile

I don't know about Itaewon, but I know western brands carry western sizes. So Forever 21, H&M, Uniqlo, etc. Uniqlos are EVERYWHERE so bonus on that.

I don't know about tall sizes, though, if that's an issue.

Also, Korean T shirts all seem to be crazy long and oversized anyway and you can find lots of cutesy designs at any underground shopping if that's your style.

Good luck.

Shinsegae now has a store with large sizes for the BBW. Of course it's nicer stuff that's not cheap.

There's clearance shop for American brands that is mainly women's plus size in Itaewon.

I cant remember the name, but its in the basement under Seoul Pub. You'll be able to see some stuff on mannequins and then stairs leading down to the store.

Catalog shopping doesn't have the same appeal as I personally enjoy hunting around a bit. However, I sometimes look at my friends and think "She definitely got that shirt here in Korea." If you have been here long enough to tire of the same few shops in Itaewon, you can probably figure out what I mean.

yeah, it's a little tough finding tall sizes at forever 21 and uniqlo, but i think the OP could try at forever 21 for bigger sizes. they tend to be western sizes at these chains.

h&m only carries jeans up to size 32. and to score that youll basically have to be there when they unpack the shipping boxes. size 30 is easier to get.

but shirts, shoes, and everything else that goes with it they have in big sizes. shirts/wests/dresses/skirts up to size 42. and shoes up to size 40 or 41.

forever 21 only serves jeans up to size 29. checked them multiple times. shirts, you could get lucky, if size L fits. anything above that is not available there.

uniqlo, imo, has weird cuts. and jeans also just up to size 30. shirts, their designs i dont like, really. but thats just personal taste.

as for shoes, zara has big sizes too. ive seen up to size 41. but you gotta be quick with that as well. dont think its a secret anymore that they have shoes in bigger sizes there.
they also sometimes happen to get a 'wrong' delivery.. thats what i like to call it. cuz youll find the occasional size 32 jeans in their piles. shirts go up to size L.
also, theres a few zara shops in myeongdong. you do best if you go to each single one, as their collection varies a little from store to store.

in terms of prices.. i prefer h&m. they have 'normal' european prices. however, i also have to admit their quality, when it comes to jeans at least, is not so good. they dont last years. if at all a year max. then the stitching will break open or you have wholes in the cloth. (but maybe im just washing/wearing them too often.. haha)

where in namdaemun did you hear one could find clothes for 'big western women'?

There was a big Korean lady at my last school, and she liked Namdaemun. I think they also sell plus sizes on G Market, but I haven't looked so I don't know if they're cute stuff or ugly stuff.
