www.schoolsinkorea.com was shut down...a quote from their facebook group entitled "The Independent Registry of Schools in Korea" (if you're on FB, like them)
Quote: |
Recently a number of hagwon owners have launched a campaign of fear against those that have filed reports with the IRSK. We at the IRSK want you to know ~ your information is safe with us. We never store information on computers in South Korea ~ so everything is outside the jurisdiction of the courts and the greasy hands of hagwon owners! |

Really? Your website doesn't load. Server not found. Any Taco Bell haters are xenophobes that need to be sent to blissfully live their lives on that set of highly disputed Liancourt rocks in the sea. They don't fear a campaign brought on by foreigners, they fear business losses should that result from unscrupulous business decisions. Koreans don't care what we think or how we feel. They are Koreans and Korea is for Koreans only so they are working on developing these robots that teach and do these cool dance moves. All without the discomfort of dealing with a living breathing stranger. Robot is their dream when it comes to adding different characters to their society to enhance things a bit. |

Of course it doesn't load. That's what "shut down" means: it's gone. |

Ha ha yes. Bingo. 1,2, and 3. I almost forgot the shut down sequence. It eclipsed my mind. I just experienced 4 months of no really having conversation or being involved in some sort of lifestyle with other people involved in a meaningful manner. Let's hope my shut down is not soon. A 10 year old girl who doesn't speak much English walked up to me today and said, "You die!" I'm getting psychotically creeped out on this Korea gig. WTF? |

Yes, the foreigners avoiding other foreigners in public and often insulting them thing is getting really old. Normal people seek connection and community, and you won't know if you do or do not have things in common with others until you get out of your funk and open up a little. |

My two cents on those said people is that they were socially awkward prior to coming here and just carried that trait with them.
They have found their niche in the non-acknowledgement of others unless they are in your circle that is Korea. |
