The cause would seem obvious to me. A bridge over-congested with traffic (i've been on it on a saturday), driver frustration and risk-taking, and a guardrail that provided no safety.

Commiserations to the victims families...

I had to search for the news online after I saw it on YTN News. The driver "was attempting to avoid a stalled Matiz on the bridge," is what the on-scene reporter said. I guess the driver couldn't be bothered to do that safely. Why is safety treated like a curse word here?

BBC reported it as a "parked" car.

Internationally they are making people here look like idiots Confused

People park all the time in illegal and dangerous places. The freeway is no place for that.

If the driver had a legitimate car problem and had to stop, then he should have pulled over to the right side and put on his 4-ways.

The driver was likely driving too fast in rainy weather.
