recently my wife and I were turned onto wedisk .co.kr and wow! I thought torrents were fast but this site is amazing!

when we feel like watching a movie we will search the website for a good one then begin download.

a high quality 1.5 GIG movie with korean subtitles will come screaming on to my comp and be done in less than 2 minutes!

if we don't want to wait 2 minutes we can start the movie right away.

why can't torrents be this fast?

Why can't the internet in general be that fast in my home country?

Sigh.

They can be. You just need the right sites and preferably connected to Korean peers.

Yup, I downloaded K-Pax last night from a Korean torrent site to show to a Korean friend and it came down at about 7 MB/s.

A Korean dude gave me the log in for his account, but I only used it a few times. The best thing about it was being able to stream video. Start the download, then begin watching straight away. Kind of awesome.

Don't you have to pay to download from that site? I like my piracy like I like my women: no-viruses, reliable, and free.

Those sites are often two tiered.
A free download runs slow.. around 200k, while a paid account can download at super speeds. I use clubbox sometimes because they occasionally get subtitles for some shows before other sites, but I don't pay for it.

They are usually pretty generous about handing out free credit, as well. Every time I order items from gmarket, it seems like I get coupons from those places.

I use folderplus. Pretty much the same thing. You can find nearly every solid American TV show, including Korean subtitles on there. You have to know how to search for them, though.

For example, breaking.bad.s01e01, etc.

Lightening quick...350MB episode in less than a minute. In my old building that had fiber optic I reached download speeds of 13 MB/s.

It is good but not free.

Half a season of Star Trek costs 450 won, and a normal 1 hour drama episode costs about 70 won.
