What are the odds that I can have a little studio in my company-provided apartment? And when I say "little", I mean the basic laptop, microphone, mixer, etc. I read in another thread about Koreans doing metal or wood-work at odd hours of the morning. But, what about me? If I have music playing in the evening, will it be complained about by my neighbors? Should I care? |

You are allowed to scream, beat your wife, and smash all of your possessions to bits at 2, 3, 4, or 5 am, so I don't see why there would be any complaints about a little music in the morning.
Seriously...the domestic disputes you'll hear here put the Jerry Springer Show to shame. |

That's sad for those receiving the beating.
But that's cool for me and my noise! |

What's even more common is that the husband comes home wasted beyond belief at 5 or 6 in the morning, having spent hundreds of dollars at the prostitute norae bang....he kind of grumbles while his wife screams at him in octaves I have never heard before. This goes on for about an hour while you wait for the police to come....which they never do.
Cue the Korea Force to claim that this doesn't happen and that it's all a figment of my imagination. |

Is it strange that I've lived here for 4 years or so (in 6 different apartments), and I've never once heard a domestic dispute?
Actually, the neighbours in the apartment below recently had to give away their dog because he was making too much noise (but actually not that excessive) and everyone else in the building complained.
Also, my friend, who's a team manager, has had to move one of his teachers because he was coming in late and making a racket when drunk.
I guess that my point is... it depends on your circumstances. |

That's crazy. I mean, I believe you and all, but that's really hard for me to believe.
I've heard several domestics here where I wouldn't have been surprised at all to find out that someone had been murdered the next day. |

Honestly... not once.
I've lived in two areas of Seoul, and two areas of Incheon, and I think that my kitten made more noise than any of my neighbours ever did. |
