Just another good SOHO story to add into the mix:
I called him a few months ago about booking a ticket home for my sister's wedding next month. As I mentioned before, he is not always the best at answering emails right away...especially when the dates requested are months away.
I sent him another email a few days later, asking him to just go ahead and reserve the cheapest ticket he could find, since the cost of getting home for this particular occasion was of little consequence to me.
When he did get back to me, he let me know that he had found a ticket price and reserved it for me. He told me that I could go ahead and pay for it if I wanted to, but that he was unsatisfied with the price.
I paid for the ticket anyway.
A few days later, I got another email from SOHO telling me that he had found a cheaper price (about 150,000 won cheaper). He asked for my banking information, changed the ticket and REFUNDED the difference into my account.
Now THAT'S what I call good service.
SOHO rules. |

1st Korean travel agent to get a real time quoting and purchase system wins big money profits. Why no real time systems? Why does it seem like every travel site is out of date and fixed quotes are old such as from last Winter? Could they update?
Why does it take 3 to 5 days to get a response? I guess if you are actively shopping right now then you can call or walk in? |

I wouldn't go with Soho. While he is a nice guy, he rips you off. I once got a quote from him flying Cathay Pacific and out of curiosity, I went to their website where I was offered 40,000 Won cheaper per ticket for the exact same flight! Therefore, I no longer trust his heavy commission rate. Most agents are like this. I would avoid them if possible. The only benefit is you don't have to pay immediately like you do on an airline website.
However, if Go to Korean travel websites Hanna tour, 072.com, or interpark.co.kr you can reserve and transfer money some time after reserving. Some agents just book on these websites. If you can't navigate the website in Korean, have a Korean friend or co-worker help you. These are the cheapest deals out there!
AVOID SOHO!!!! |
