Essentially of course, the blame lies with the perpetrator.

However, its not hard to imagine in Korea a situation whereby management and co-teachers conspire to turn a blind eye to/ or cover up such goings-on to an extent...in order to protect the schools reputation and keep the money flowing.

Korea is an expert in painting over its rotten underbelly and presenting a fake happy-happy facade.

Homer, you really confound me. After reading one of your posts I never know whether I should get petty and pick apart your writing skills, agree with you, or take issue with your typical (and often ridiculous) defense-of-Korea-at-all-costs bleatings.

Once again I've been Homered.

I am not defending Korea here. In fact I am not defending anything or anyone. I am just saying that certain elements of this story point to the teacher being guilty.

I think it is sad some members of the K-media will use this the wrong way.

However, if you feel like picking apart my writing skills or take issue with something you insist on seeing in my posts then go right ahead. Whatever floats your boat.

It had been a while since your last drive-by post taking a shot at me. I was wondering what was going on. Glad to see the old reflexes are still sharp caniff.

Now do you actually have something to say that is related to or even relevant to the thread topic?

If not, I suggest you send these shots at me via pm. That way you will not disrupt threads. Then again, that would mean you would not get to take public shots at me. A tough choice indeed....

The first part I've bolded is his point. The 2nd bolded part is to dispute the "shot at you". He's not exactly the first to call you an apologist either. Relax man.

Not to worry bucheon...it is the usual banter between caniff and I.

No one is angry or agitated here. Laughing

Still for fun I could do this to refute your counter point...

Why are you already assuming he guy's guilt here?

Neither is it hard to imagine in Korea a situation whereby the teacher was set up and falsely accused to get rid of him by some jealous/prejudiced co-teacher or other person for whatever reason.

Nice lack of solidarity with your fellow NETs. Rolling Eyes

I know for a fact this happened at least once in Japan when I was there in the 90's.[/quote]

Except that there has been and continues to be no national outrage yet in any such case. We already went through this in another thread where people were claiming that if the media reported a case of a foreigner being accused of child molestation that there would be riots in the street.

I posted links to a number of such cases which were printed by the KOREAN MEDIA. No riots occurred and no witch hunts.

As to whether the guy is guilty or not...let's wait and see what happens.

Yes, we should automatically side with other foreigners over here just because they are not Korean. Rolling Eyes

True, although a jealous co-teacher would not go as far as to risk the schools rep by conjuring up allegations of child abuse. They'd be far more likely to bleat that the wayguk was "using incorrect engrish" or "playing too many games" at staff meetings.

In this case we have several students coming forward separately with similar allegations of abuse.

You mean we should side with other foreigners just because they ARE Korean??? Logic much?

Anyway, not surprised you don't value solidarity. Others of us here, however, do look out for each other. I'll takw those types any day.

And this has nothing to do with being Korean.
