I'm doing a bit of planning for my next session, and I was thinking about addressing different learning types.
I would like to give my students a test so that they know if they are tactile, audio or visual learners and then giving them advice on how to study based on their learning types. Granted, many of the students will probably shrug it off, but I'm hoping that the motivated students will use this information to enhance their learning. I generally try to incorporate methods for all three types of learners in my lessons, but I want the students to be able to figure out the best means to study for themselves.
Anyway, does anyone know of a good test which will give the students an idea of which type of learner they are?
I know there are several survey type tests where you answer with what you think about your own abilities, and I may end up using one of these tests, but I think a test where there are right or wrong answers might be a little more objective. I have personally taken a couple of quizzes with questions like "Do you prefer listening to music, watching a music video or playing music" and I find it a little inaccurate. When the value of the answer is obvious, I find myself answering more along the lines of what I think the final result will be rather than what is actually true. |
