So, some animal decided that it would be a great idea to remove a kitten from its nest and trap it in the trash can next to my house. I found it covered with trash and cigarette butts. The poor thing can't be more than 2~3 weeks old. I've kept my eyes open for the mother looking for her kitten, but nothing's shown up.

I'm leaving Korea in about three weeks, and I really can't take it home with me. This kitten needs a good home. It needs to be bottle fed for another couple of weeks, and for anybody familiar with fairly newborn kittens, there are certain unpleasant aspects to helping it go to the bathroom. Needless to say, this kitten needs a dedicated caregiver. Granted, I'd say that it's about 3~4 weeks away from being litter trained.

So, with that being said, if you're planning on being in the country for a while, perhaps you'd like to take on this little gem. He's (yes, it's a boy) pretty healthy and adventurous for something that can't really walk too well. The first night he cuddled up right next to my head on the pillow, and he follows me around all the time when I'm home. He's content to spend the afternoons, when I'm at work, in his little nest. He's really affectionate.

Thanks for all the interest I got from here. There really are a lot of people out there who do care. Unfortunately, this morning I found the kitten had died during the night. I guess it wasn't meant to be.

For anyone who is interested in adopting needy kittens:

There is a vet near Yatap station in Bundang who currently has abandoned kittens looking for homes. They've been there for a couple of weeks now, and it doesn't look like he's having much success placing them in homes. I'm afraid I don't know any details about how old they are, or whether they've had shots, etc. (I just walk by them every day on the way to work.)

I can give more detailed instructions on how to find the vet if anyone is interested.

I am interested but can not travel to Bundang just to get information. Can you find out more?

If you live in Seoul, there is also a cat shelter there that might be closer to you. It's called Nabiya, and they have a group on Facebook. I believe it's located around Yongsan.

I can send you the phone number for the vet here in Bundang, though.

So sorry to hear about kitty! I know the care needed! My "Freckels" was in a similar situation 4 years ago. 3 weeks old or younger. Had to feed her every 2-3 hours. She even went to work with me in a little picnic-like basket so that we could do feedings and "bathroom-ings". I would have loved to help! You are a good soul for trying!
