Any suggestions on the cheapest way to ship my stuff home to the U.S.? It'd probably end up being a big box or two, and I don't care how long it takes to get there.
I heard that shipping by boat is one of the most inexpensive ways, but I can't find any information. Anyone have info about this, or stories? |

Yeah surface is the way to go.
Just pack up your boxes and take them to the post office. I don't tape mine until I'm there since they sometimes want to check what you're shipping. Also you'll need to fill out an inventory list of what's going.
Most postal employees are really helpful here, but there are a few who take themselves way too seriously. Just be agreeable and don't it personally if you get treated like a criminal. Just use commonsense (no glass or contraband!) |

on the subject: why no glass? if its all wraped up ok I don't see the problem?
I went to post a mug back home last week and it caused a few moments of deep thought for the staff there. Got it through by using a cheaper posting method in the end, bonus there! Helpfull staff working there sure, but sticklers for odd rules! |
