With current troubles using SK broadband, I'm considering switching to the Egg but I'm wondering if torrent downloads etc. are possible. Care to share your experience? |

Eggs use Wimax technology they're not meant for extended use deep in buildings. Wimax is meant for outdoors, near windows/etc
While I've used it deep in buildings, I wouldn't want to rely on it there.
I've got SK and it's working fine for me right now.
The eggs speed can be fast in perfect conditions, but realistically you're looking at about 1/10th of the speed of your home connection or less. |

What are the current problems with SK Broadband?
I used them for just over two years. I was paying nearly 40,000won a month for internet. The service was fine, but it wasn't cheap.
About 3 weeks ago I was in Emart and saw Qook had some kind of deal going on. I think it's 19,000won a month for both Qook TV AND internet. They also gave me 220,000won's worth of Shinsegae (good for Emart too) vouchers. I cut off the SK and made the switch =)
Qook's TV is WAY better than SK broadband's was. I stopped using their TV service back in February so it may have improved since then I guess.
Qook will also offer full Skylife packages from August. You will not need a satellite dish, it will all come through the cable. That'll be good for those who want Skylife.. |
