I'm changing schools and I'm finding that many of the schools won't speak with me because I'm married. Is because they fear that I'm going to leave them if I get pregnant? What's the deal????
Does anyone know a good school in the Ilsan area? |

Are you married to a Korean person, it may be that you have a F2 visa, and therefore aren't bound to your employer by your contract. |

Nope, I'm whiter than white. I'm American and my husband is even more foreign than I am. He's from Pakistan.
I also wonder if its because they fear about sponsoring him for a VISA. He's got his own VISA and is working.
Then I also wonder, if it has to do with housing. |

I married to a Korean and have never had a problem, actually it seems to have been an advantage. Potential employees believe that you are more likely to be attuned to the korean culture and customs than other possible non-married-to-korean employees might be.
However in your case it could be a variety of reasons. Some schools/universities expect you to find your own housing if you are married. It seems they don't want to provide a house to someone who doesn't work for them. Or if your a woman, they expect your husband to provide housing.
However an alternative reason is that you just aren't the right person for the positions that you have applied for, and that you have to keep trying. |
