Hi, I know there are lots of car wash places dotted around. But i'd like to get my motorbike washed. quite frankly, its filthy. i'd do it myself but i lack the goods to do it. plus i'm lazy and happy to pay. is there anywhere i can take it? in seoul is good, yongsan gu is better, or just ideas of where i could go.

cheers

There are several coin-operated do it yourself car washes around Seoul. I know there's one in Hannam Dong, kind of up towards the Gangbyeon expressway.

Do a Naver search for 셀프세차 and you should be able to find one really close to you.

I don't think I would risk using any high pressure water to wash my bike. Unlike cars, the engine, transmission, etc... of a motorcycle is much more exposed. I would worry about water manging to seep its way into some place that it should't be.

It's a motorcycle, its not that much effort to wash it yourself. Go down to emart or homeplus buy a few supplies, do it yourself. Will be cheaper in the long run anyways.

cheers for the coin operated one. i'll prob hit that up. its mainly the wheels that are the worst. the rest is fairly easy to clean. but the wheels are terrible. i've used pressure washers before on bikes. and the other poster was right about it not being a great idea. that being said, i'll prob still do it. back home ifyou have a bmw bike, you can book it in for a winter prep, and they clean it for you then reapply all the right lubes and grease. for only 2 or 3 hours labor cost. i'd love that here.

The Hannam-dong one is kind of tricky to find, but it faces the river and is just West of the Hannam bridge on the lower service/access roads.

if you came from noksapyeong towards the river and turned a left at the very end going towards hanam bridge. is it on the left hand side? and kind of open air. there is a few shops on that little stretch. kind of behind the main road on a smallish road that runs alongside it. that the one?
