I've e-mailed the embassy in Seoul about this, but I thought someone here might have some insight...

I'm planning a trip to Singapore later this month. I bought a cheap flight on Travelocity that goes from Incheon-->Beijing-->Singapore and then Singapore-->Chengdu-->Stop in Hefei (no plane change)-->Incheon.

Just this morning, I came across some information that leads me to believe I might require a transit visa for one or both portions of this trip.

According to the US Embassy Web site, "Visas are not required of aliens who hold air tickets to the final destination and have booked seats on international airliners flying directly through China, and will stay in a transit city for less than 24 hours without leaving the airport."

My flight numbers are different for each stage of the trip, and I have that random stop in Hefei...so does that mean my flight is not "directly through China?" Will I need to purchase transit visas? It's not a big deal, but I'm concerned about getting this done before 7/24...

Anyone ever do anything similar? Any insight??

ARC question: my E-2 visa in my passport has an "M" for multiple entries. Should the ARC also have something about multiple entries on it (like on the back)? I don't see anything like that, and I can't remember from the last time I worked in Seoul...

Do you ever leave the airport?

No. But since I have this stop in Hefei en route from Chengdu-->Incheon, I'm thinking I'll have to clear immigration/customs in Chengdu (for a domestic flight), and I don't see how I can do that without a visa. I wish I had thought of this earlier...I didn't look very closely at the flights when I booked them. Razz

My friend did the same thing when travelling to Thailand. They gave her some crap about it, but ultimately she got through.
