| i definitely recommend adventure teaching. they help you out every step of the way and are very helpful with getting your visa. also they stay in touch with you after you are over here to see how you're doing and can help you out with any problems you have. |

I agree that even a bad recruiter can find you a good job....it may just be that the school that has the job that matches what you need happened to hire a jackass recruiter.
When we came back to Korea our recruiter was an absolute P.O.S.....they usually delete posts that name paying customers so I won't say which company he worked for.....but he was terrible. He literally didn't listen to a single thing we told him and we'd literally have to email him 4-5 times before we'd get answers to our questions (we finally learned to send 1 email per question instead of overloading him with 3-4 questions in one email because when we did this he would answer the easiest of the 3 questions and ignore the other two.)
At any rate...it was a major headache and I really wish that there were a better system in place to put some of these crap recruiters out of business....but there isn't. Half of the directors/owners who hire the recruiters have no idea how well the recruiter speaks English because they don't speak English themselves.....at any rate, there is no such system so it's a moot point.
So, we got to Korea and our job was pretty good and matched what we were looking for at the time. Even though the recruiter was a complete lazy and worthless moron it all worked out fine. We didn't sign until he got us a phone number for the current teacher and it was all good.
To me talking to the current or former teacher is the most important thing....sure, they could lie, but if the school can't put you in contact with one, then don't take the job. |

You expect a "system" that regulates incompetent businesspeople? If the recruiter is lazy and unresponsive, then drop him/her and move on to a better one, right? No harm, no foul.  |

I'm currently searching for a job in Korea and I'm registered with about 6.
FOOTPRINTS have been excellent so far, and they have a really clear, concise Visa Guide (pdf) that really breaks things down nicely for you.
The guy I mainly deal with there is very good. He is one of the few people in my life who always gives me a clear answer to a staight question!!
I would avoid RBI KOREA. I don't want to bore you with the whole story, but they were innefficient to the point of rudeness! I don't know if I have been dealing with a particularly thick member of staff, or if it's the whole outfit.
But, I have seen other negative comments about them on the forums.
I know a guy on my course has gotten a job through ESL AGENT and he is pretty happy with them. |

| Anyone recommend anything for SMOE/GEPIK and those programs? It seems that Korvia isn't that great according to the 2011 August thread for EPIK |
