Corrupted software? You DEFINITELY don't need a repair shop for only that.

It still turns on, right?

Apple's suggestions for repair on iPods is always the 5 Rs. Do some Googling and save yourself some money.

Be more specific about what exactly happens.

What he said.

But if that doesn't help, there's a 'Genius bar' Confused in E-Land, round the back of the station. It's right down the far end on the ground floor: http://tinyurl.com/2b7ar54

Thanks guys for the replies.

yes it still turns on, but iTunes no longer recognizes it. Almost everything from websites had been tried but still it doesn't work. The best solution right now is someone who has lots of experience in repairing Ipods e.g. repair shops (to prevent further damage). The Apple Center here in Gwangju is quoting somewhere around 135,000 KRW. So im hoping, it can be fixed by a techie guy somewhere around Yongsan at a much cheaper price.

Again,thanks for the suggestions.

@Gaber,

I'll check that out, thanks

Try this!!! It worked for me when my IPOD froze up.

I held down select and menu buttons at the same time for several seconds with two fingers and it worked again.
