Sometimes, I wonder why I even bother with Seoul. |

Are you talking about this? www.shilla.net It's not just a fitness center, but is an executive business hotel with amenities.
How did you find out it costs $54,000 to join the fitness club? Only pricing I could see is a business meeting runs 300,000 won per person which includes 1 night in hotel, use of meeting room with projector from 8am to 5pm, morning and afternoon coffee break, and Western style lunch.
Surely it wouldn't cost $54,000 unless hosting a large corporate meeting. |

Rich people need a place to work out.
$54,000 is peanuts compared to some Country Clubs. |

One year unlimited training= $26,000 per year.
Plus $125 monthly dues.
Add the $8-15 (let's round it off at $10) per day on workout shakes and vitamin boosters...
Figure you go 4 times a week, that comes to $29,580.
I guess this place is pretty cheap compared!
(I never did the unlimited year, though. Wayyyy too much. 12 sessions at a time doesn't break the bank as much, and the trainers are QUALITY and HOT.) |

You're right - Just knowing there's a gym I can't afford to go to ruins the whole stinkin' city for me |

Did anyone join the Banyan Tree club in Seoul yet?
Quote: |
Within the 22,000-pyong sized club are facilities including a hotel, several restaurants, spa, small golf course, ice skating ring that turns into a swimming pool in the summer season, a kids zone, and a football field.
...
Currently, around 3,100 individuals have memberships that each cost an average of 120 million won, though membership price differs accordingly to different criteria.

It looks quite nice in the pictures.

54,000 is normal price for a decent gym. What are you complaining about? |

I've worked out at the Cheju Shilla gym. Good, but not all that. Sauna and indoor/outdoor swimming pool access is a plus. |

For that price, I hope they include the whole state. |
