				| I used to work at Mokdong SLP. They do work you hard, but no harder than a normal (in the Western World) job. But if you're looking for an easy-ride with little work then they're not the ones for you. They do use their own curriculum which is good though.
On the plus side, they are honest employers, always pay on time, provide decent accom, FT's complete their contracts and most often extend, and although they work the teachers pretty hard they are good to them. So if you don't mind a bit of work for a school that won't give you any major issues I would recommend them.

				| I'm not denying they work you hard...but some people don't mind coming over and actually doing a bit of work for the money they earn. All I'm saying is if you don't mind working hard in exchange for an honest employer (which can be hard to find in a hagwon) then you can do worse. My opinion only, not expecting everyone to agree, but I am speaking from experince. | |

I assume contact minutes means teaching minutes? 1500 minutes is 25 teaching hours a week. That is 5 hours less than 90% of jobs offered these days. 1800 is 30 hours a week. That is pretty standard.

I say if the school checks out with the teachers and they are big enough to pay on time, the school is better than most situations you could find yourself in as a 1st timer with no teaching experience.

Most hakwon contracts have you working 30 classes of 50 minutes (30 class hours) and 1500 minutes in front of your class.

SLP WILL have you working 20 -21 classes of 90 minutes (a FULL 1800 minutes per week in front of the class).

300 more minutes per week for the same money.
 Work harder for nothing extra.

If it works for you. go for it.

				| I have an interview for this school coming up and I was wondering if there is anyone here that is currently teaching @ Mokdong SLP who could give me a bit of perspective ...good and bad. Maybe give me your email and we can talk... Thanks!

Worst place I have worked at. I have to say I have been here for 6 years proir to coming to work here at this school. I resigned after 3 months due to payment problems, breaking of contractual hours and abusive behavior at work.

However even though I gave a resignation letter and the appropriate amount of time before leaving, this school has reported me as a missing person at immigration and I now have to leave the country.

They still haven't paid me and now they have destroyed my career as a teacher in Korea

Only do if you're desperate. I would think the job market would be starting to open up more as Americans will start leaving Korea in droves as teh exchange rate for them is getting terrible and ain't getting any better soon. Brits too, I hear. Also, their economies are getting better with many states having below 5% unemployment rates.

Why haven't you gone to the labor board? Filing a claim with them can prove to immigration that they are lying and calling immigration for revenge and playing games. Of course you should have done this right away after leaving.
