|
|
Cebu Pacific was having a big sale earlier this year. In a few days, my wife and I made a big plan to go back to Philippines at Xmas. We got super cheap tickets, 1 way to Manila. Our return trip was not on sale.
I then investigated many airlines and sites, and ended up getting flights to Bohol and Boracay, and then back to Manila. I have been waiting for a seat sale for the final ticket back to Incheon.
I check every few days. It has always been 7100 pesos, but somehow today it went down to 5100. I grabbed my credit card and passports and started rpocessing it. At the end, I got an error message. I was pissed off, but tried one more time.
When I went back to the main page, the price was up to 5600 pesos. I guess that's why it failed. They updated the site and detected someone about to buy a ticket. Might as well put the gears to him.
All in all, the 3 of us (wife and daughter) are going to Philippines for a period spanning Xmas and New Years for a total of 1,000,000 won or so. That includes 2 domestic flights. 750,000 just for Manila to Incheon for 3 people. Good times, good prices. Korean Air, learn. |

ya... but no free lunch....
you saved a million won (or more) but you have to pay for your food... that will set you back p100 per bunwich and p50 per drink.
you'll easily spend another 20k won for food.

| We have to eat, regardless of where. We always pack a KFC burger in our bag before boarding the plane. Drinks too but no airport food is cheap. |

You was able to plan Christmas 2010 travel already? Heck, I can't even plan my Summer vacay due to a lack of factual info and organization on my boss's part. I get all kinds of mixed info and screwed up answers in all my attempts to better understand my Summer camps starting just next week and vacation time this Summer in 3 week and yet the Summer is already half over. I'm getting pissed now as many last minute demands are placed on me to the point of having to stay late these days to interview all these students one on one with no advance notice of even 5 minutes in most instances each day along with extra hours over my teaching load becoming more common in the past month. I wasn't able to plan in advance for a well earned Summer vacay and still didn't buy tickets due to lacking trust in my job that can't plan anything and just changes things at the last minute more times than not.
Smart to pack food. Too bad you can't pack a 2L bottle of water these days. It's rather dry up there. |

Sorry, my post was meant to be tongue-in-cheek.
Good on you for saving the cash
(saved a million won but lost out on 20k worth of "free food").

| Yeah I paid 80,000 won each way for flights to Manila last year. Took 5 flights (Incheon - Manilla, Manilla - Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Lumpur - Ko Samui, Saigon - Manila and Manila - Incheon ) for less than $300 US. |

I got tickets from ICN-MNL return, for a little under 400,000 each. (going with g.f)
Waited around and ended up getting the flights from MNL-Cebu return for about 20,000 each.
we bought the first tickets in march and the internal flights about 2 weeks ago. The flights leave on july 31st and come back on August 8th.

Exit rows are not allowed to people younger than 15 years old and can't speak English.
You can lie about the English thing, not the age thing.
