About 3 years ago the school I was with downsized. I had only been there a month, I didn't have my ARC card, and I was told that I was being let go. So I rode out my time and got my final pay and left on fairly acrimonious terms with the management.

Could there be any problems with immigration? I worked in Korea before this and finished two contracts and got out of one early.

As long as you didn't overstay your visa and the school didn't report you for doing something bad, then you should be in the clear.

so long as you fully disclose all the information on your resume you should be fine. My previous job end in 'termination' and I was still able to comeback no problem. Just make sure your give all the details of how and why you were let go, plus give contact info for that school/academy provided they're not total asses they'll (and you weren't an ass to them) they'll confirm your story. The fact that you've completed to other contracts should be sufficient to get you a new job and visa. Immigration is more concerned with midnight runs and criminal activity from what I understand.

you know I can't actually figure out what korean immi is actually concerned with - besides crime and overstaying / working illegally. Of course a midnight run is fairly serious for your school (i think - maybe not?) but is it something immi would deny someone a visa for?

I remember one post a while ago where someone wrote about their boss trying to report someone who skipped out on them and the immigration official tellling them that there really wouldn't be anything they could do to prevent them from returning.

It would be nice to hear from somebody who has experience as to what korean immi. is actually concerned with. However I think that KTRFA list or whatever it is is probably where most talk of a black list originates from.

Who knows?

I didn't really pull a runner. My boss and I came to an agreement, I then left. During the process of trying to leave they tried to scam me out of 1 million won.

I got money after some seriously ugly words were exchanged and I went to China.

My understanding is the blacklist thing only really lasts for the length of your visa. Once that visa has expired you can return to the country on another visa.
