platinum and diamonds are commodities. if worn normally, this ring will last for many generations.

If this ring is such a fabulous commodity, why are you so hot to trot to offload it?

Buyers remorse for spending 2 months salary on a product that has absolutely zero practical usage?

you're absolutely right that a tiny, shiny piece of carbon has no practical usage, outside of some particular industrial applications. however, i'm from a country where the offering of such a odd thing is a common ritual in the heterosexual mating cycle - i know it sounds strange, but please try to imagine it with your limited faculties.

females in receipt of these tiny shards of carbon, superficial as it may be, have been know to, perhaps subconsciously, draw corollaries between the shininess and size of the carbon fragment (especially in relation to other females' carbon shards) and the magnitude of appreciation and affection felt by the usually-inscrutable male. in a word, the carbon is a symbol.

Love, however, like the best laid plans, sometimes doesn't work out, as you yourself may discover some day - if you ever put away the video games. good luck selling those by the way.

I tried "build your own ring" at Amazon a few months back and a similar ring to this, but without the platinum setting came out to about $5300.
Amazon are a lot cheaper than high-street Jewelers, but you don't get to look at and touch the ring before buying (though you can always send it back if you're not happy).

In a long-roundabout way, I'm saying this is a great price, but the market for a $5000 ring is going to severely limited, just as I'd imagine it'd be hard to offload a BMW or a Rolex here either.

Have you tried the Korean sites?

I know a little about diamonds having imported an Ascher cut for my girl so I will bite.
I think a price of between 3,000 and 3,500 USD is a good deal. Let me tell you why.
While Brilliant round is the most popular cut, it is not in vogue like other cuts - most young women want a princess cut or if they have class an ascher Very Happy
While it is a big rock, it probably shows a touch of warmth to its colour - it is rated J - right on the bottom of where that particular cut turns yellow.
Also, clarity is on the bottom of the acceptable side.
On the positive side, it is rated an ideal cut so it should throw a lot of light and this counts for everything - girls want sparkle!
Similar NEW diamonds on Blue Nile retail for 3,500 to 4000 USD.

The platinum band is the mystery. Platinum is expensive and if it is a decent band then the ring is a bargain because they alone are worth 1,000 USD. Ofcourse, a ring is something you have to see and fall in love with.

Anyone interested in buying diamonds should seriously consider this ring because (and I have looked around Seoul) there is alot of crap in the stores and most of it is overpriced. Go to the diamond district near Jongno and check out some stones to give yourself some perspective.

Peace.
