Which is better?
I usually only use my phone to text but I can get one paid for by my company... |

I've had an Iphone 3 in Canada and have had my Galaxy S for all of a few hours in Korea (but I have had an Android phone before in Canada - LG Eve. Also had a few BB's which I honestly miss the most).
They're surprisingly similar experiences to the average user I would think. (Apple feels much more like someones holding your hand all the way through it)
There's just too many variables to compare them by and too many different possible opinions.
In my opinion Apple has no excuse for the lack of expandable memory (Micro SD card hello), lack of replaceable battery (if you use it for media you'll be wishing you had a spare), closed app approval system and lack of customization to the OS itself (can be a good thing for most users but drives me nuts!).
But if all you're doing is talking and texting, then I'd go with iphone for it's slightly smaller form factor, it will fit nicer in your pocket since you'd be completely failing to utilize either phone for what they're great at. Texting on either phone isn't that different and it's something you always get used to anyway. If I were you and was really only texting then I'd just get the smallest form factor phone I could find with the nicest keypad. |

Five reasons to buy Galaxy S:
1. Beautiful AMOLED screen. Watching movies and reading ebooks is a joy.
2. Android apps are plentiful and mostly free.
3. Plays .avi movies natively. No need for encoding.
4. Comes with 2 batteries. No need to explain more.
5. It has nothing to do with Steve Jobs and Apple. |

They announced today that the Iphone 4 won't be releasing on July 30th as planned.

Five reasons to buy iPhone 4:

2. iPhone apps are plentiful and mostly free.
3. Plays .mp4 movies natively. No need for encoding.
4. Comes with a free case (bumper). No need to explain more.
5. It has nothing to do with corrupt chaebols that bribe and steal. |

The iphone does look good but as with all things Apple, it will most likely be more style than content.
Mp4 files are fine but the vast majority of video on the web doesn't come in that format. It is much easier to start watching divx movies without having to encode them first.
Apple are so nice to supply a free case, because they know the new iphone loses reception without it, lol. |

basically theres arguments for both phones..lets face it both are great products so you have to decide whats more suitable for you
samsung galaxy s
main strength is media playback (my main reason for buying is the mkv and divx support)..can drag n drop files as an extrenal usb device. apps are catching up very fast (though still lacks the essential skype but that is in development skype say) and when android 2.2 comes out the galaxys user interface will be slicker than ever. it really does have a beautiful screen to watch/use. swappable battery for extended use (very useful). upto 48gb (though the 32gb micro sd card are pricey as a mofo atm) android is great if your into tinkering about and changing its looks. standard korean android market lacks paid apps and games but theres lots of free (paid apps n games) online if you know where to look. predicted to sell 500,000 units in korea by the end of this month alone so i'd expect some serious korean specific app development.
iphone 4
will most likely be the biggest seller worldwide of this years generation of individual smartphones so you can be guaranteed great app support for the new screen rez. u get a case now so the antenna prob is a moot point, i dont know anyone who uses a phone like this without a case anyway. the demo 3d shooting game for the gyroscope looks impressive. facetime chat is meant to be the best video call experience. proven slick user interface. requires itunes which is either good or bad depending on your preferences. it has 3 times more apps than android. easier to get paid apps (just sign up for u.s. itunes account). last time i heard the 3gs sold something like 7-800,000 units in korea so iphone korean specific apps are as good as you can get right now.
looks/case wise i think you'd have to say the iphone 4 looks more stylish and has better case build quality but as your gonna have to keep both phones in a protective case anyway i dont think this should be an important factor.
basically whatever floats your boat |
