I liked apocolypto. Braveheart however ignited scottish nationalism (as if it needed any encouragement) based on a historical misrepresentation.

Hehe that's putting it mildly Wink complete fabrication is more like it. It's amazing how many outright falsehoods about both Willy Wallace and British history have seeped into 'general knowledge' as a result of that film.

Ah c'mon! Lethal Weapon was brilliant fun and the sequels weren't too shabby either, considering.

Kind of creepy how divorce laws take the very precepts of capitalism and turn them upside down into an authoritarian belief that an equal marriage inevitably means an equal share of the loot. Or at least a very generous share beyond all proportion and evaluation. That they are one and the same. It makes the money these rich guys make somehow tainted and illegitimate. Creative ability and financial acumen become owned by the courts. What's yours is mine and what's mine is yours seems antiquated. Robber baron loot or blood money should be parceled out...but money built on meritocratic principles?

One nice thing about being in front of the TV all day back home is the news updates. She wasn't his wife, she was his girlfriend.

Apparently there is hard evidence that is going to come out soon proving she told Mel that she wanted 10 million to destroy the tapes of him going off on her.

My gut feeling and what I've read about her in the news is that she's a clever opportunist.

She's going to gauge him for all that she can.

Gibson and McCartney are both fools for a piece of a s s.

You trying to tell me they selected these hotties based on personality and compatibility??

They flashed their wealth as the main drawcard to attract these bloodsuckers in the first place, then appear shocked when she wants to cash in her part of the deal.

This is probably true, although I doubt Gibson or McCartney thought of it like that. I'm sure they could have chosen from many, many. If both of them were just rich and without talent I'd agree with you, but what's clear is that they got rich as a direct result of their talent. That changes everything. What Gibson and McCartney saw in these women and what these women saw in G and M may be poles apart. The women were definitely opportunists, but I'm sure living with extremely successful men would be a hardship in itself.

The question is how much cash does she deserve for her part of the deal? Even the highest paid prostitute at $5000 dollars a night would only be getting a few hundred thousand dollars a year. How do they rate multimillions? Because they became accustomed to a certain lifestyle? Geez, who wouldn't?
