I have to always watch my videos on the computer since I can't put the video files on my Itunes. Whenever I put add file it doesn't bother recognizing the videos. It's one thing to add music files, but the video won't go through. I have tried so-called free software, but, as you know, in America software companies lie by telling you things are free, but they mean only free to download, not use. I don't want to download something and then be told I need to pay unless I know it's great for what I am trying to to do.

Anyway have any ideas? I don't want to be the only guy I know who barely has any videos on the IPOD. I have plenty of music, but I want to watch my videos on there, too.

Putting video files onto itunes and subsequently your ipod is a massive pain in the ass. It took me two hours to convert and transfer one tv episode last week.

And get this, it asked me to update the firmware, so I did. And guess what? The update crippled some of the functionality of the device. I used to be able to output video to a larger screen on my ipod touch. Good for when the computer in the class is acting up. Now when I try to use it, it comes up with a message

"Your ipod touch does not support this peripheral." ie the cord that connects the ipod to the tv.

It worked just fine before the update. *beep* you Apple!

you need to convert your video files to ipod/iphone format

http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/Jodix_Free_iPod_Video_Converter/jodixipodvideo.html

this will give you a free, easy to use converter

i have found that youtube is a great source for tutorials about many things especially things like how to put video files onto your ipod

heres an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8ELmDCaZRs&feature=related

you might have to do a search through youtube to find out exactly what you want - it is time consuming

hope this helps

I am giving this a shot. I appreciate it. I have some French language videos I want to watch, and I have them on the computer, but not the IPOD, and while recovering from surgery, I want to be able to watch outside.
