How strict are the bouncers on enforcing the age requirement? My girl is 32 but looks around high 20s-30. I'm in my mid 20s.
Would we be able to get into a hip hop club? And are there any recommendations? Please include directions or a map. |

As long as you're dressed fashionably and look like you're going to spend money, most clubs in Korea will let you in without a problem, with the exception of some of the "nah-ee-tuh" clubs that prefer single groups instead of couples.
If you're looking for straight hip hop clubs, unfortunately Korea's scene is pretty weak. There are a few big clubs, namely NB and Harlem in Gangnam and Hongdae, but they cater to the thuggish, young, oversized jersey, flat brim, towel carrying wannabe Koreans.
If you're looking for a more refined experience, do a facebook search for the NExc!te Events group. The owner/director is a friend of mine and he throws decent hip hop parties monthly around the city at different venues. It's very gyopo heavy, but mostly an older, more relaxed and refined crowd.
They do events at Mansion in Chungdam, Function and Luv in Itaewon, etc. Smaller, more classy venues. |

Does "age requirement" mean you have to be UNDER a certain age to get into a Hip-Hop club? |

Yes, I was referring to the maximum age.
I'm looking for some clubs that play things along the lines of 50 Cent, eminem, wyclef, akon, general hip hop club music.
I looked at the info for NB and Harlem and they sound more like the clubs I have back home in San Francisco. I'm looking for crowds that dance a lot and can get crazy. |

If you're 26 or older you shouldn't be going to clubs with the kiddies anyways.. unless you like being "that (old) guy" in the bar...
You're not cool anymore, deal with it and move on. |

In Hongdae some of the clubs have age limits. My buddy who was 35 was denied entry due to his age.
I think they are more strict about it with guys than girls. If you go to a place like Gangnam, there won't be any limits. |

I go for music, and my preference is usually for club music which younger people like to dance to as most clubs I've been to with the average age in late20s early 30s, everyone is sitting down and chatting, or doing a little two step and thinking they are "dancing".
I'm going to be with my wife, btw. Not trying to be cool, but not wanting to waste a night in a bar where no one is dancing. |

I love NB in Gangnam, but my reccomendation would be JJ's at the Hilton in Itaewon. Thats where my boss goes because she is to old for most clubs. |

That'd be at the Hyatt...and that is a well-known hook-up place for ladies of a certain age... |
