|
|
I've searched online and people seem to report a very wide range, everywhere from 40,000 KRW to 240,000 KRW. I read a couple people say they were ripped off. Anybody have a reliable figure? Is being ripped off a legitimate concern? I am talking about going to Kangnan specifically. |

That will be expensive. I took a metered taxi last year from Bupyong to the airport and it ran 55 000 won. |

I took a taxi from Nowon (ne Seoul) to Incheon once and it cost me 70,000 plus toll. I would suggest the airport limo. They are fast and cheap. |

There are 'International' taxis; bright orange in colour. They will have an english speaking ( or chinese / japanese) driver and there are set rates from and to the airport.
From the airport to Kangnam will cost you 65,000krw.

We are all assuming you meant from the Incheon International Airport and not the city of Incheon (they are not that close).
Just catch the airport limo/bus.
Luggage goes underneath,
stops at major hotels,
~12k won,
departures every 15 minutes.

Thanks for the replies everybody, I guess I will budget for ~60,000 KRW. I didn't mention Incheon BTW, only ICN, assuming there is only one airport with the code ICN. I plan to take the bus for other trips in and out of Seoul, but for my first flight I figure I would save myself the hassle. |

Why does nobody take the subway?? It goes all the way to the airport and has done for at least 2 years already.
Way better than the bus IMHO. |

Yes, that's what I was thinking.
And from Gimpo Airport to Incheon Airport, it's only 25-30 minutes or so. Fast and comfortable... and easier to get to now with Line 9's express trains. Gangnam to ICN in just over an hour.

I spoke to a cab driver this week (he studies English and like picking up foreigners) and he told me that he does ICN to Gangnam for 70,000W (including toll fees).
I could post his number (he gave me his card) if anyone is interested. |

You can arrange for a pre-paid taxi in the arrival terminal. Its is approx. 55,000-70,000 for anywhere in Seoul. That way you know hes not going to take the long way.
ICN is an airport code ttompatz, come on now. Do people really call Incheon city ICN? I doubt it |

+1 Subway. The first time I came here (2008) I didn't even know about it (recruiter told me to take a bus to Gimpo). The last couple of times I've gone back to Canada I took the subway and it was great. Fast and efficient. |
