Quote:
DEMILITARIZED ZONE, Korea Security along the DMZ has gone high-tech, as South Korea has quietly installed a number of machine-gun-armed robots to serve as the first line of defense against the potential advance of North Korean soldiers.

The stationary robots which look like a cross between a traffic signal and a tourist-trap telescope are more drone than Terminator in concept, operated remotely just outside the southern boundary of the DMZ by humans in a nearby command center.

Officials refuse to say how many or where the robots have been deployed along the heavily fortified border between the two Koreas, but did say they were installed late last month and will be operated on an experimental basis through the end of the year.

I can't open the link, but how can we be sure those robots won't accidentally take out deer, birds, cats and dogs, or even south korean people?

I just clicked on it and it opened.
Though try holding shift and doing it.

Its controlled by people. It sends a warning signel and if they don't want venison, they dont shoot.

Those are sweet! I'm buying the paintball version for my apartuh, so I can shoot scooter riders and English teachers.

so complain to the person who wrote the article.

Though, if you were a military official and someone said "those new robots on the DMZ, are they controllable or should we expect them to spew out 500 rounds a minute at the first deserting NK soldier or refugee who trys to cross a line drawn in the sand by the robot?"

What do you think would be their response?

I think it says a lot regardless.

1/ We dont really trust the younger generation to have a hate on for the NKs and so they may not shoot if they see someone crossing the DMZ. Therefore, the Robot feels no brotherly love for the north, so die NK scum, Die Laughing

2/ Those soldiers who spent too much time playing starcraft 2 and fall asleep on the DMZ wont affect security.

3/ Nk now knows we are so technologically advanced, our 'sudden assualt' playing middle school students wont even know that they are really fighting a war when they are playing that cool new video game that allows them to shoot invading NK soldiers.

4/ NK just lost the numbers game, one million NK soldiers have just come up against 30,000 robots (future count) who see equally well at night as they do in the day, dont get tired or protest about having to fight for 24 hrs straight.

5/ SK just recieved a new market for the anti fleeing refugee weapons system. I am sure China would like 1 on thier borders just in case NK falls.
