Just some info for anyone who's curious.

What I needed at the SF Consulate:
-visa application
-application fee ($45)
-original passport
-passport size photo (I'm not sure on this one. I included a photo sized to the specifications on the visa application, which was 35mm x 45 mm, and had no problems with that. I don't know if a 2in x 2in would also be acceptable. I just brought extras in case. When we get to Korea to get our Alien Registration Card we'll also need a couple 3cm x 4cm photos, so just a heads up.)
-contract
-NOA
-original diploma
-health statement
-Consul's checklist
-sealed transcript

You can find the application and checklist here: http://www.korvia.com/downloads/visa_application/Visa_application_form%28consulate%29.pdf

The health statement you can find here:
http://www.asknow.ca/New%20Health%20Statement.pdf

The consulate also has the documents on their site but the quality of their version isn't too great. I'm sure you could get the papers at the consulate itself as well. I hadn't printed the health statement and the woman provided it to me there. With my diploma, she just made a photo copy and handed the original back to me.

For the reference info on the visa application form and address in Korea, the woman told me if I didn't have the info it wasn't necessary to include it. The agency info for the Consul's checklist is just EPIK's info.

Address: 43 Ihwajang-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul, 110-810, Korea
Tel: +82-2-3668-1400

As Will stated, Americans automatically get a multiple entry visa, so no worries if you want to make trips outside of Korea while we're there. Smile

Hey so I'm going to the SF consulate next week but did you apply for the E2 or F4 visa?

I also plan on hitting up Ike's place afterwards! Very Happy

Hey folks,

Does anyone have any information on how we get from the airport to Jonju university for the EPIK orientation on the 18th?

I'm asking because my recruiter is asking me to hold off on buying my ticket, but they are going up very fast. Are we supposed to get there at a certain time in order to be taken to Jonju?

Do any Spring EPIK applicants remember when they were supposed to arrive at the airport?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hey, Injuredeagle have you received your contract yet? I'm in the same boat as you. Waiting for this damn NOA to get the VISA thing going and nothing. My recruiter keeps saying "There's plenty of time for the visa" uh that's not what I'm worried about. I'm worried about the tix prices going up!

So, some people on the fb group have been saying they no longer give out multiple entry visas. I'm not sure if this is true or not. The info I got off the site reads:

A. Single entry visa for a stay of no more than 90 days : US$30
B. Single entry visa for a stay of more than 90 days : US$50
C. Multiple entry visa : US$80
D. Prolongation of Reentry Permit : US$20
※ For Citizens of United States of America, multiple entry visa fee is US$45 on the basis of reciprocity since the mutual agreement in 1994.
E. Exemption of Visas Fees (As listed below)
F. List of Countries Exempted from Payment of Fees (as of May 2009)

I was asked for $45, which I paid. I'm assuming that as an American citizen that meant I was being given a multiple entry visa. I guess we'll see when I go to pick up my passport tomorrow. Smile I'll keep y'all posted.

The Korean Consulate in the US will give you a single entry visa if you are an E-2 (I believe for a stay of up to 90 days). This is why you have 90 days to get your Alien Registration Card.

When you come to Korea you will apply for your ARC and you will give your passport to Immigration. This is when you will get the option of a multiple or single-entry visa being added to your passport.

This is probably the ONLY time you should let your passport out of your site (unless of course you're trying to get a visa to visit another country here in Asia).

Fergal, was hoping for #250, but looks like that spot has already been filled. Oh well. Mind adding me?

Thanks!
