Other than the fact that it is a bad idea... no. I did the Seoul to Busan trip. It takes a long time as you have to avoid the tollways. You can speed on the 80km roads to make up some time but seeing as you have a 125, 80km is probably the limit of your bike. The weather is also supposed to be crappy this weekend. Nothing sucks more than riding for 6 hours in torrential rain. Once was enough for me I wouldn't do it again (and I was riding a 600). Take the KTX. |

In the rain? No, I wouldn't do it. In good weather? Hell yeah. I love long rides, though I personally wouldn't like it on anything less than a 250cc. |

I concur. I wouldn't do it on anything less than a 250 either. |

Even a 250 is pushing it. (Well, my slow Korean 250 anyway). When I ride from Ulsan to Busan I wish I had just a bit more power. Going past 120 makes the bike work a bit harder than I'd like.
Definitely don't do it on a 125. Or if you do, plan for lots of extra time. |

Does anyone know of any good bike dealers?
I'm looking to upgrade from my 125 mirage to a 250.
That also means I have to take the test. Anyone know where and how to take it in Seoul?
Much appreciated. |

Me and a buddy are looking into going to Jeonju next weekend. Anybody know a bike rental shop down there, we are looking for 125cc, not 50cc. Also nice places to cruise to around there (Jeolla Buk Do), beaches good roads, etc. |

Any of the motorcycle enthusiasts here do the motorbike exploration tours in Chang Mai, Thailand or into Laos? I've been thinking of doing this in August.
Can anyone recommend any companies if I decide to do this? I've looked at a few places and it seems that the going rate for an XR 250 is about B. 650 a day. I'm curious if the bikes are well maintained and if they will offer support if the bikes break down during the ride. Also, is there a required minimum number of people required to be able to go out on the tour?
Just curious if anyone here has done it and what kind of experience they had. Thanks. |

Hey guys,
I'm thinking about getting a Hyosung GT250R here in Japan. Does anyone there have one? Know anyone who has one?
They seem to be good little bikes and the reason I'm considering one over a Ninja 250R is because of the price. A used '08/'09 GT250R goes for $2-$3000 here whereas a used '08 Ninja goes for $4-5000. I had a Daelim 125 VJF-i in Korea and grew attached to it so I don't shy away from Korean bikes like a lot of people here seem to (hence the price being so low as Hyosung is trying to penetrate the market here).
What do you think? Go with the Hyosung or save for the Ninja? Cheers.
(I'd ask someone on the Japan forums but I got a lot of "Korean bikes... wut?") |

I feel so out of place here.
Most people on here ride either crotch rockets or scooters whereas I got an 1830 V-Twin Yamaha Roadliner. Dude, I wish I could (cheaply) bring that sucker over. Next month I plan on taking it from Bismarck to Cooperstown for a nice 500-mile run. |

I'm heading to Thailand for 2 weeks on Sunday. I'll try to get some info for you while I'm there. Although I'll only be on the islands, I'm sure someone will know what's up. |

Hey, Thanks!
I'm curious to see what these trips are like. I've always been interested but have not taken the steps to get involved with a tour. Years ago I read a thread here where I think some teachers did it - but good luck finding it.
Still, any info you can pass along would be much appreciated. I'm probably going to be there in August sometime. |

Not to clutter the board or post in the wrong forum, but my request is specific to MC riders:
I want to buy a used and cheap motorcycle tank bag, preferably the magnetic kind (is there any other?) in Seoul as soon as possible. PM or reply if you don't have PM access. |

Actually, I have one that I bought, but it didn't fit my bike as well as I hoped. I'd be willing to let it go for, oh, I don't know .. 10,000 (it's in like-new condition). If you have a cruiser-style bike, I'm sure it would work well.
If you wanted it though, it would be great if you could make it down to Bundang - I don't go into seoul that often. |

Just got off the phone with the driving agency (02 330 5644). Was told that the regulations for driving up to 125cc on a car licence have not changed, hence it is still legal to drive a 125 on a car licence, and there remains no set date for the change to come into force.
I did tell him I've had my Korean licence and bike since '07; he didn't specifically say that the new regs only apply to new licencees, although I suppose that's feasible.
BTW, my first call to the number was not answered by an English speaker - i was able to give him my number and explain roughly what I wanted in Korean and a competent English speaker called me back promptly, so do persevere. |
