Guys! I was hoping to go to Mudfest this coming weekend but it seems Adventure Korea has only 1 place left. I will be travelling with at least 1 more..Is ther any alternatives on a travel company to go with?

I'm looking to go as well, and I would love to go with a group since I'm pretty shy and just arrived in Korea. So if you find any other groups going let me know!

Yep, I'm going with Korean safari and they currently have 8 seats left for this weekend. It also leaves a little later than AK, and from Itaewon, so it works for me. Leaves earlier on the Sunday, though. But I'll be too hungover to care. Good luck...

I agree except for the motel, stay up all night and take the first bus/train back in the morning.

~or~!

Adventure Korea etc. are about 100 ~ 200 a person and they don't include food or drinks. You can get train or bus return for less than 30,000 won. A motel (if desired) is about 100,000 to 200,000 for 2~12 people.

~or~!!

Ride the rails or hitchhike, sleep on the beach, take advantage of free 500 won coins they give to 'foreigners' for lockers, mooch some more, and you may even return richer than when you left.

Doublecheck your receipts. I've heard of extra zeros being added to debit and credit cards.

Why would you use a company to go to mud fest. Its a free event which you can easily take a train or bus too. If you want over night find somewhere there or bookin advance or take the first train back.

By the way it kinda sucks this year, they moved it down the dead end of the beach. All the events are around gravel which hurts to walk on in bare feet. They also have less stuff going on. Highlight this year was the mudslinging, but that i think was an unplanned event. They had mud sculptures and people were picking pits off to throw at each other and some unfortunate people who unknowingly parked in the middle of the action got their cars caked in mud. All pretty funny really. Oh yeah and no free mud soap this year.

Was there Tuesday and Tuesday night. All 3 motels we checked within walking distance of the festival were 50,000 a night. All had rooms available. Had raw fish for 2 at one of the boardwalk restaurants for 80,000w, with plenty of booze. Of course, weekends will be different, but we had a great time.

You're shy and the first thing you're doing in Korea is the mud festival? Good luck. Post a video on youtube.

you can also catch a train from Cheonan-Asan Station. Saemaul or Mugungwha in the direction of Iksan go to Daecheon Station where it is a quick taxi ride to the beach. Did it this weekend and scored a pretty cool motel. We got a room right on the roof with the roof patio and things for us to use at our leisure as long as "we did not throw anything off the roof" which the dude who ran the place warned us very firmly.
