|
|
Hi,
I'm heading to Jeju next week(07/20). I have a hostel reserved, but I am wondering if anyone has had experience with going to Jeju without a reservation and finding a cheapish love motel during peak season.
Should I keep the reservation I have even though it's 90,000 won a night?
Or should I cancel the res and roll the dice?
I would prefer answers from people who have done this.
Thanks for the help. |

I went to Jeju last weekend and found a motel in Seogwipo for 20,000 a night. |

When you get off the plane and into arrivals, head to one of the tourist information booths. Tell them where you want to stay and how much you want to pay and they will sort you out.
I told them I wanted a cheap motel and she got the owner of the motel to pick me up and drive me to Seogwipo for free. I paid 25,000 a night for the room. |

Not my thread but I have same question. Do you think I could I get the same rate or close in last 2 weeks of August?? I was thinking it may be a lot more expensive than that. |

Downtown Seogwipo it's easy as heck to find 20,000 and 25,000 a night love motels, some old but at least one pretty new. Take the bus to the small city and walk around the five-square block core and you're set.
Korean tourists and international tours avoid the city center, stay in Jungmun or coastal hotel and simply bus it to Seogwipo for the waterfalls and seafood restaurants then zip out again, milking travellers for much more than what locals and independent travellers can pay if they stay off the honeymoon/tour beat. |
