I feel sick. I don't know what I really expected to happen. It was taking so long anyway I kinda got disgust fatigue. A harmless bloke got killed. In broad daylight. On the streets of London. By a Policeman. For no reason.

My only consolation is that Simon Harwood has gone into hiding. I'm pretty sure he will get his...

That is too bad. This was a teachable moment on police violence. It is a shame it wasn't used for that.

If you still believe in the rule of law, I guess putting a few quid in here is as good as anything.

Yes, it's dismaying. I think the main problem was that the pathologists did not agree on their findings. The original report claimed he died of a heart attack. That's been disputed by another examiner, who says its very evident that the cause of death was an adominal rupture directly caused by the force of being knocked to the ground.

A sad day indeed for the 'British Bobby.'

So, we have no convictions on any police officer over the past 40years for a 'death in custody'.

We have a law where filming the police in public is illegal, such that in the eyes of the law it's the people who shot the video of Ian Tomlinson's attack who are the criminals.

We have a branch of the Metropolitan Police who after four years have received 5000 complaints of which only 9 have been upheld. Leaving one member of the Met to even label them as 'immune from prosecution'.

Yes, it's appalling. The British have takent their freedom and liberty for granted too long, and don't seem to realise (or care) how little they have left.
