God... does it EVER end?? My sound suddenly doesn't work. This has happened before ("No Audio Output Device Is Installed"), but I usually just do a system restore to an earlier point and that fixes it.

Not this time. I'm really not good with computers... I just don't get how they can design something so hi-tech and then FOR NO REASON AT ALL the sound stops working.

It worked fine fifteen minutes ago. I didn't do any updates or change anything. Just... poof.

If you live in Haebangchon, I'll pay you to come fix this for me (so it works permanently).

Hey, guess what, same problem here!

Sorry, I'm no computer expert, but I will suggest this. Have you done a full system scan with Malwarebytes, recently updated?

I did one the other day (after having my sound crap out for the umpteenth time), and lo and behold, there were 360 infections on my machine! That's in spite of the fact that I've got pretty good security in place.

Infections cleared, the sound returned.

Try it if you haven't. Malwarebytes is free, and will discover all kinds of malware that other such programs fail to detect.

What type of computer do you have? Is it a laptop or desktop?

I would suggest (if you're running xp, not too sure how to go about it in vista, 7 or MacOS) going to start, control panel, sounds and audio devices and finding out what your sound card is. That would be under hardware. You can also find this by going to system, device manager.

After you find out what audio card you have, I would google it and download the latest drivers and install them.
