I know it costs $50 in the US. Any idea of how much it costs in Korea? Does insurance cover it? |

Thanks. I actually already saw these posts but none of them answer my questions which are:
1- How much does it cost in Korea
2- Does insurance cover it. |

If you really need it, why are you on Dave's posting questions? Shouldn't you be at the chemists right now finding out?
If you don't need it right now, but think you will need it in the future, then shouldn't you be thinking about other methods of contraception such as condoms, regular pill or implant? These are better safeguards than the morning after pill which is an emergency contraceptive. |

No need to be an a-hole. It's just that I'm currently in the US and wanted to check on the price difference before deciding whether to get it here before returning to Korea or purchase it in Korea. Not that it's any of your business, but I do use other forms of contraceptives, but if I can have another in my arsenal why not?
I'm just gathering information at this point and since this is a general discussions board about life in Korea I figured I'd ask. Get off your high horse buddy. |

I don't get it. Are you weighing up the cost of the MA pill and having a baby? So, if the pill is too expensive, you will just go ahead and have the kid? What is your cut off point? $100? |

Are you kidding me? This has to be one of the dumbest questions I've ever seen.
The pill costs $50 in the US. I want to know if it's cheaper in Korea. If it's cheaper in Korea I'll buy it there. If it's cheaper in the US I'll buy it here. I just want to have an emergency stash because you never know when an accident might happen.
I can't believe something so simple has come to such an absurd question. MOD EDIT If you don't know the answer just move on. |

Do not be cheap! Buy it in the states. It will save you a lot of grief in the end. As the articles I posted said you would have to visit the gyno. Plus you just will not want to deal with the gossip and hassles in getting the pill.
In actuality stock up on all medicines and toiletries you like in the States. As finding some will be difficult or just expensive here in Korea.
Good Luck. |

Do they even hand out the pill without a valid reason? I'm not sure "I need a back up supply of the morning after pill, on the off chance I decide to have unprotected sex", is a valid reason.
It just seems like a weird thing to be trying to save a couple of bucks on. Why not try to save money on your plane ticket or something? Out of all the things to save cash on, why this? |

It's good that you plan on using this IN CASE your other contraceptives don't work. I'd recommend buying it in the states, because you'll know exactly what you're getting, and can trust that it's legitimate. |

My gf had to buy it once, go to a clinic, tell them you need it. They write up a script for one pill. Clinic visit 18K Won and the Pill is around 20K won |

It's dead simple to find information on the drugs you are prescribed, in Korea, anyway.
Simply type the Korean name into Google, and it will come up with the Korean info on the medicine. This info will include the English name which you can then search for info on.
Some prescriptions have a serial number for each medicine, which is much faster to type in. It has the same info, though. |
