I have vacation for a week and have a friend visiting. I wanted to start with Friday/Saturday in Seoul, end with Thursday/Friday/Saturday in Busan. Normally, I'd just try and find places close to wherever we are but the language being such a barrier to find good, cheap places I wanted to see if anybody had any suggestions. Also, since we will likely have a small amount of luggage (backpack, carry on) it would be nice to know ahead of time some places to check out.
In Seoul we will probably be by Hongdae, so besides Mr. Kim's guest house (right outside the Hongnik station) anybody know of any backup places in case that is already all booked up? Also, any good sightseeing in and around Seoul?
Never been to Busan...anybody have any recommendations of fun places to go at night to party (ideally with a mix of foreigners/Koreans, not just Western bars? Also, any sightseeing places to go in and around Busan?
Lastly, I really want to do some ATVing, some good rapids, and some paragliding? Anyone have any suggestions of places to do this during the week? Ideally a place that we can reserve ahead of time and/or places to stay?
Thanksssssssssss a bunch for any help. |

Kyungsung is the place to go for the nationality mix in Busan. There are a ton of bars all with in a couple of blocks. As I have recommended on another thread, Friday night at the LZone is pretty fun. It is a language cafe that hosts parties on Friday nights. 10 000 won entry gets you a free drink and as much Cass as you want. They got a ton of board games and a lot of Koreans there looking to chat with foreigners and have a bit of fun for the night. During the day Jalgachi Fish Market is fun, also Nampo-dong is street market ahoy, Songjeong is the best of the beaches imo, check out a Lotte Giants game at Sajik Stadium for the insane Korean baseball supporters. For ATVs a good day trip from Busan is Gyeongju. The Silla Burial mounds are also well worth a look see. Over by Gyeongju World though you can thrash big four wheelers through a large river bed. Good cheap fun. |
