I would like to have a box copy of the game rather than just a digital download and I want to be able to play the single player campaign and mulitplayer in English. I looked at amazon.com but it seems they won't ship here and in Korea they're not selling box copies at all right?
So where's a good place to order a box copy of the game? |

From what I'm getting from the various forums:
Even if you have a US Battle.net account, and your billing is set to the US, and your client you buy is from the US, the region of your Battle.net server you connect to depends on where you are.
For example:
Everything I have says I should be on the US servers. However, Battle.net 2.0 looks at my IP and says, "This guy is in Korea, connecting to Korean servers."
However, since I have a US client, and to top it off, Korean servers are not online, I can not play the game nor even login to authenticate my copy of the game.
Basically, Blizzard screwed up. Instead of relying on the Client version to determine what region you are in, they opted instead to have Battle.NET decide.
What does that mean for you?
Either wait for the Korean client and play the Korean client in Korea.
OR
Somehow trick Battle.NET to think you are in the US (VPN maybe?).
OR
Wait for Blizzard to fix that problem.
SO, before anyone asks any other questions about the game, you should realize that as of right now, you CAN NOT play Starcraft 2.
You can keep track of the issue here:

If you know a Korean who could setup your Battle.net ID with their Korean ID number, then you can play it in Korean. |

That for me would be a last resort. I would much prefer an English version. |

I was a part of the US SC2 Beta, and I had no problems whatsoever logging in and playing the game.
Now with the retail copy we are locked out. |

| well... the single player campaign is great fun anyway... With a ummm... illegitimate version, you can still play through it, but after closing it you have to go to the starcraft 2 folder in your documents folder and open the LibertyCampaignSave file to start it up again. |

Am I the only one here that has a US digital copy that works? I was a beta tester and deleted the beta version of the game. Then through my US bnet account I downloaded the game last night and added it to my bnet account.
I use my NA account. The same BNET account I use for WoW on American servers.
I paid with my credit card.
I am NOT using a Korean based bnet account. I have one but I'm not using it for sc2.
I can log on and play league/custom games and campaigns just fine. I use windows 7.
You guys sure you aren't missing anything here? |

After an hour and a half on the phone with customer service I think I figured it all out.
If you setup your battle.net account in Korea, you are locked to the Korean region. It doesn't matter if you changed the website to US location or not. Blizzard's servers automatically setup your region based on your IP address. So, even though I have a US battle.net account, with US address and US credit card, I processed all that information from my computer in Korea, so according to Battle.net, I'm in the Korean region.
Those of you who setup your Battle.net account while you were in the US or EU or wherever, you are locked into that region so you can play fine.
Now, Technical support is aware of the issue. They are working on making a fix for it. I was told that I do not have to change my region, buy a new copy of the game, or anything like that. I was told they are working to fix the issue so that people who are outside of the US region, with a US version of the game, can play on the US server. |

I'm getting a "Temporary outage of Battle.net service".
Been researching and I believe its due to playing a North American copy of SC2 in Korea.
Even though I have a US battle.net account, that I setup in the US with a US address and US credit card, my IP is from Korea.
So, its not letting me login.

I had an IP problem too. They said there was "suspicious activity" on my account. I think it's the simple fact that I was playing in a cafe on my laptop. Blizzard, come on. |

I don't think they're missing anything. I think it's just very "wonky" right now. You say you're fine. The guy above says he can't play at all. Last night I got a message saying that there was "suspicious account activity", which means I have a US credit card, but playing in Korea. I was locked out of the game till I changed my password. But I've been playing single player just fine. |
