I arrive at 5am and will have too many bags and will probably be too out of it to take a bus. Any idea of how much a taxi ride from the airport to Yeongtong, Suwon will cost?

Thanks in advance!

P.S- please only post something if you're answering the question or offering some useful information. It's really annoying going through all these clicks to see an, "I don't know" or some obnoxious comment.

Again, thanks in advance!

I can't exactly answer your question, but probably a few hundred. Even to Seoul it's quite a bit. And I've heard sometimes the taxi drivers who go these long distances try to rip people off. Unless you want to fork over a few hundred dollars (few hundred thousand won) I'd ask people at the information desk where the bus to Suwon is. The buses have big compartments for luggage and often the driver will help put them in for you. I live in a different province, so I also have to go through this process when I go to/from Incheon.

It's 90,000 to Ansan, so I'd guess about 120,000 to Yeongtong. The first bus from the airport to Yeongtong is 7.30am, but the first bus to East Suwon is at 5.30am (see http://ggairportbus.co.kr/ ). Get a bus to East Suwon, and get a cab from there to Yeongtong for about 10,000.

Arrive at 5am, walk out door 7 and catch the bus to Suwon. They take care of the luggage under the bus so it is no more difficult than taking a taxi. 12k won. The bus only makes 3 stops and you want the last one so it is hard to screw up and if you fall asleep it is no worry.

Buses start at 5:30am and run on a 20 minute schedule. Big red (deluxe seating - 3 abreast) bus. Seats are like leather padded lazyboy recliners with padded foot-rests.

When you get to Suwon, stay on till the last stop (Castle hotel).
Catch your taxi from there to Yeongtong-dong (about 6k-7k won).

Taxi from the airport will cost you well in excess of 100k + hiway toll fees.

I used to live in Yeongtong and it is a long way from Incheon. You will be paying over 100,000 won for sure.

It makes complete sense to get a bus. Buses here are reliable, comfortable and quite fast. There will be plenty of space there for your luggage.

It is sensible to take Public transport in the Seoul area.

If you can spare over 100,000 won go for it.

If you want to take the more sensible and better option, then go for the bus.

Take the express bus. It costs 12000W to get to hotel castle. There will be several taxis waiting outside hotel castle. It should cost 8000-10000W to get to Yeongtongdong from there. Don't take public transit buses or the subway. The ticket counter is near Gate 8 at the airport for the express bus to Suwon. Its comfortable, safe and fast. Make sure the taxi's don't rip you off at hotel castle. Ask them how much it is. If they say more than 10,000 wait for the next taxi. If you take a taxi from the airport, you are an idiot.
