Thought I would put this up for your enjoyment and perusal. I'm sure it will be all over the blogs and twitters or whatever (if it isn't already) before long.
I don't think I've read any of them. The Foster-Wallace ones are familiar. Everyone knows Hunter Thompson and Gladwell. I'm looking forward to trawling through them. Wish I had a Kindle so I could go read them in the park. |

Yes, I've been enjoying a few of them this summer.
I recommended about 10 of them, glad she posted them up and put the list together....

Thanks. Instant credibility with the Federer article there at the top of the list. I didn't really need an extra excuse to stare at my computer screen but I guess I got one. Will work my way through. |

Senior, thanks for that!!!!
The one on Federer is really good, informative. Well written too.
If there is such a thing as reincarnation I want to come back as a federer. Not really into tennis but I admire him, especially as a person. |

So far, I've only read the Federer and Lobster ones (because I recognised the author and they were the highest rated), both are extremely good.
I like that idea of seeing the ball larger and moving slower. I think even the most inept sportsmen amongst us have felt that at some point (of course, not to the extent of Federer or similar). |

Yes, I like that as well. A function of being supremely confident and not freezing or choking that might waste some reaction time. It's instructive for all walks of life.
I also like the reminder of 2d vs 3d problem of TV. Watching on TV is more intimate, but makes the game look deceptively easy. It's the same with motor racing on TV. The cars don't look so fast b/c the track appears foreshortened if that be the right word. |
