I need to get the birth control pill from the pharmacy. What brands are there in SK that I can get over the counter? I am looking for something with low estrogen. Back in the States I took Orthotricyclen.
Also if you know the name the brand name in Korean so I can copy and just show it to the pharmacist.
Thanks |

Go here: http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?t=928, it might help!
Mercilon is a Irish brand and comes over the counter. For one pack (3 weeks) it's 7,000 won. There are others, but Mercilon is the only one I know of. When you go in to the pharmacy just say "PM Yak" or Mercilon in Korean which is "Mau-shi-lon." The Mau is like saying "awe" in awesome.
Good luck!

Triquilar is a triphasic birth control pill sold in Korea. It's not available everywhere - but the pharmacies in Itaewon definitely have it. |

I second Mercilon. It's a single size dose, unlike ortho-tri, but you'll get used to it after the first month. The ones that they have like ortho are really high dose, and it's always better to go with the low dosage.
My pharmacy has it for 6000 won. |
