|
|
hi there,
i have a question...
if a non english speaker wants to teach english in seoul, would there be any possibilities?
english - fluent
degree - yes
accomodation - not needed (already in seoul and accomodation is being paid for)
visa - not needed (already holding one, not f-2, but e-7)
what options would i have? hagwon, privates? what salary should i expect?
thank you a lot for your answers! |

a) Passport from one of the 7 approved countries?
b) Degree from one of the 7 approved countries?
IF you answer yes to both a) and b) then yes, you can legally add legal teaching to your current status of sojourn (permitted activities).
If you answered no to either a) or b) then the answer is that LEGALLY you cannot work as an English teacher in a hagwan or a public school / after school program.
Privates are illegal regardless (on any E-visa).
Is there illegal work = yes but you can't discuss it on this forum or the thread will be locked/deleted and/or you will get banned for a TOS violation.

You cannot legally teach here if you do not hold a passport and degree from one of the following countries:
USA
Canada
South Africa
England
Ireland
New Zealand
Australia
Some hagwon owners are more unscrupulous and would hire fluent English speakers from other countries like India and the Philippines. But they do that so they can pay them less money for the same work. |
