Anyone going through this or have gone through it recently and would like to share their experiences with me? The Seoul US embassy website and the USCIS website have different requirements for the I-130. I am not quite sure which one to believe. I have emailed them but keep getting automatic emails to look at the website for information. Ugh!

Rule of thumb I would go with the USCIS info.

It's been 13 years since we went through the process, so I'm not sure what questions I'll be able to offer.

Three things that stand out were;
1) proving financial viability,

2) agreeing to forgo any and all eligibility for government provided assistance for a period of ten years

3) and of course the eight month processing time.

I'm sure there are others here that can give you more up to date info.

If you need anything feel free to PM me.

You also need to establish domicile in the US. The paperwork I received said most English teachers in Korea cannot do this. You need to have a home and employment in the US.

We did it recently. The information on the embassy's website was accurate. You really only need to worry about what to bring the 1st trip there, as the next time you will have information emailed directly to you by CIS.

Having completed the process recently, I can tell you that it took considerably less than 8 months for us to have the visa delivered. I'm sure if they're busy, it might take up to that long, though. Also, the domicile requirement can be bypassed by showing a minimum of $60k in assets. Or, maybe I did end up putting a relative's address. Can't quite remember.

The process itself cost about 1 million won. Just follow the instructions on the embassy website and you'll be fine. There are a lot of trips to different offices, and of course make sure you get everything translated into English. There are translation shops near the embassy. Good luck.
