|
|
We want to get away for a weekend trip, leaving Saturday morning (or Friday night if necessary) to a beach. It could be an island, it could be mainland, doesn't matter. Somewhere that's pretty with nice photography opportunities, with nice hotels. I do not want to go to Busan, because it is just too busy.
Where should we go? Any links to hotels would be appreciated. Thanks! |

The arctic circle. This week/end is pretty much vacation week for most of the entire country. Good luck. |

LOL! So true!
Your best bet is to go to Seoul. The place will be empty as everyone will be at the beach! |

Seriously, early to mid September is the BEST time to go to the beach in Korea. The air and water are both still warm, but Koreans feel that September 1st is the end of summer so they don't go to the beach. |

I think we're going to go to Jeongdongjin Beach in Gangneung for Chuseok, there's a sick hotel there that's built like a cruise ship, but we were hoping for a quiet beach we could just relax on... maybe a city trip this weekend might be better. Get a nice hotel and just chill out there in the pool or something. |

Haeundae sucks. Songjeong is a short taxi away an infinitely better. |

Oh god, that would be like a quarter of the population of my home country going to one beach. Mental. |

I went to Dokjokdo last weekend and was expecting it to be hideous, but it turned out to be pretty reasonable. Just had to by ferry tickets in person as they were sold out online.

+1
So so overrated. It really sucks looking back from the beach and seeing ugly, tall buildings. |

Have stayed there several times. One of my favorite spots in Korea. Make sure you drive/walk down Heonhwaro road... sheer beauty. |

Stayed there once in November, had a total blast. Lovely, weird little town. Kind of like something out of a Stephen King novel. Had a few too many drinks at the revolving restaurant atop that ship and was completely discombobulated when it came time to leave.
Also, I found a vendor there selling a beer stein made out of real squid. Looked like it was a one use thing. Hoping to go back there next month. |
