Well, of course that makes sense. If it's a family thing, if you're going to do it, DEFINITELY have it done during infancy. I'm sorry you had to have that done as a child!
|
One is much better off, or I should say less worse off, the later one has it done it if must be done at all. Did you read what I wrote about the foreskin adhering to the glans in infancy?
Circumcision is torture. Avoid or delay it as much as possible. |
Actually, due to your posting history, I'd prefer not to read anything you write about the genitals of minors. |
So you want to sexually abuse and torture a neonate by taking a cold steel blade to his genitalia while he is strapped helplessly to board and cut off some of the most sensitive, nerve-ending filled and vascularized tissue in the human body with no anesthesia, risking a whole host of complications including infection, bleeding, penectomy, and death,
and you are criticizing me for trying to save the life of your son???
OMG, you are so blinded and brainwashed by the child sex abuse witchhunt that you would be willing to do that to your own son!
I know, I know, I'M the one who's crazy. |
I said that I don't believe in circumcision, but if it's going to be done, it should be done with the mom holding him. Jewish brisses involve wine so that the baby isn't fully aware of the situation. |
What happened to you are not going to read what I have to say anymore?
Wait a minute - so you accept serving alcohol to minors and sexually assaulting them with a knife, but I am the crazy one???
What's wrong with this picture? |

It's hard typing with one hand, isn't it? I read what you wrote. It's drivel, and I've already argued my point. You're just getting sicker and sicker.
I don't accept the practice. I'm not happy that my mother had my ears pierced when I was 5 months old either. I'm saying that there IS something to dull the pain of this barbaric tradition. A tradition that I don't condone. If the parents choose to, it's a much better way than your strapping down method. <<double roll>> |

I find it interesting that a conversation about female genital mutilation has turned into one about the horrors of circumcision.
Heh, why am I even surprised? |

Turned into? I suggest you consult a dictionary. Female genital mutilation IS circumcision, too. Or is male genital mutilation, aka "circumcision," cool with you? |

| Well I can't speak for female circumcision, but I would like to say I am well adjusted and wasn't traumatized by being cut as a newborn. I personally see nothing wrong with it (at least as a newborn, later on does seem a bit questionable). |

That's because you don't know what you are missing. The foreskin is a very densely vascularized and innervated structure; i.e. it is exquisitely sensitive. The "ridged band" of highly specialized nerve endings in the prepuce that is removed in circumcision was first described in 1991.
In "The prepuce: Specialized mucosa of the phallus and its loss to circumcision", published in the BRITISH JOURNAL OF UROLOGY, Volume 77, Pages 291-295,
February 1996, the authors concluded:
| Quote: |
| The amount of tissue loss estimated in the present study is more than most parents envisage from pre-operative counselling. Circumcision also ablates junctional mucosa that appears to be an important component of the overall sensory mechanism of the human phallus. |
I, of course, have never masturbated , but cut guys who have report that their thumb and forefinger tend to go exactly where their foreskin is missing. You are aware, aren't you, that circumcision was promoted in the past as a way to prevent boys from "self-pollution"? Circumcision condemns its victim to a lifetime of decreased sexual pleasure, at best.
The foreskin also serves to facilitate intromission during intercourse. Cut men spend more money on lubricants.
If you really see nothing wrong with it, I suggest you re-read my above post on its dangers and complications. There is no good reason to torture your son or risk his life or sex organs.
Circumcision is torture. Don't do it. |

Seriously, female genital mutilation seems worse, more barbaric, than male circumcision. However, the truth is that both procedures should only be performed when requested by the individual. They should not be performed on a child too young to consent.
Perhaps like statutory rape, statutory mutilation should be a crime.
Age of consent seems to be relevant to several topics recently. |

Here is a description by Ayaan Hirsi Ali of her mutilation taken from her book, Infidel.
http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/world/cruellest-cut-in-the-name-of-islam/story-e6frg6so-1111112933197
She has a price on her head for exposing what is done in the name of Islam, the religion of peace. When the Dutch film maker, Van Gogh, was murdered in Amsterdam a note was pinned to his body that Ali would be next. She continues to write and speak out about the barbarity of her former religion. She is one brave woman who is standing up for those who are too young or too oppressed to stand up for themselves. |
