Made fire with a bow drill. Practiced for a few weeks. popped the coal in the
tinder bundle, blew on it and BAM. fire. Feel pretty caveman...in a good
way right now.

That reminds me. Anyone into bushcraft?

I tried going off the beaten path in Korea. Not fun. That viney crap that's everywhere is nearly impossible to trek through, and for some reason or another there are spiders EVERYWHERE! Five minutes into the woods and I'm completely covered in spider webs (and probably spiders.) I don't think it's possible to get more than half a day's walk away from the nearest Family Mart anyway.

In an office of 100, 2 people know how to do that? I'm surprised and impressed.

More importantly, do you know how to make a Prius EXPLODE using only one tool?

Which part... I can make a tyre explode with any sharp object.

Bushcraft is for losers. I just use bombs.

Typically, blowing is the worst way to fuel a fire

Title had me expecting a story about the mile high club.
Your actual story is way better, congratulations - I'd love to learn how to do that!

Using a poor method to start a fire for a long time doesn't make it the best.
Circulating O2 is 10x better than blowing CO2 and trying to start a fire.
I stress using it as a fuel, there are ways to blow and circulate a good amount of O2 without polluting it with your own breath.

we can turn this right up to 11 here:

By blowing on the fire you are entraining surrounding air towards the fire you've made, air is only 20% oxygen so its not like you blowing pure C02 over it anyway. Blowing on the fire is fine, circulating 02 would mean using an oxygen cylinder, not really bush craft friendly!

I think I did 5 years in the scouts, always used matches to make fires, but thats still tough to get it all going, having all the tinder and stuff ready etc
