1. It is far too expensive, 3,000 won for one bottle or 2 bottles for 5,000 won is not a good price.
2. Makgoelli is a rice liquor, right? Only thing is, the stuff he hawks contains not one grain of rice. It is made from flour. |

i've always been charged 3,000 won for 2 bottles. Not much of a markup.
the brand of mak gul li is e-dong, which is probably the 2nd most sold brand of mak gul li after seoul mak gul li, and the best selling in places other than seoul.
also, word on the street is korean beer is not brewed in accordance with the reinheitsgebot - guess all that rice intended for mak gul li got redirected to the beer. there's your rice wine. |

The makkoli guy is awesome. He has passion for his work and is kind. I don't drink makkoli, but always encourage friends to buy from him.

You would buy bootleg booze in the street? Be careful. I've heard of some restaurant owners having some special stuff "in the back for the right customers" but that's usually just some strong stuff. Buying something from a stranger walking around Seoul sounds like a recipe for disaster. |

this guy is awesome. the stuff he sells he gets straight from the bottling plant as it rolls off the production line. seriously. look at the bottling date next time you have some.
do you know his story!? he's done that for 10+ years to fund his brother through college because his family couldn't afford it.
dude is always super happy. he rules. |
