| Just an hour ago I was assaulted while going to my apartment. It was a sexual assault (I think he just wanted to get off on my fear) and I really need advice about what to do. I'm really afraid of the possibility that he might come back and try it again. I'm afraid to leave my apartment. All my close friends are on vacation somewhere. What do I do? |

Was it a rape, a grab, words?
"Sexual assault" is broadly defined and it would help if you mentioned at least the severity of it. If it was a rape, you need to get to the police asap, if it was something less serious you should probably just hang out until someone can come over and talk to you.
Sorry is that sounds cold, but when I was in college the local papers scared the shit out of everyone with a spree of "sexual assaults" that everyone assumed were rape cases and were then disclosed after 3 months of this to be just random groping and cat calling. |

| It was a very aggressive assault in which a man followed me up to my apartment, pulled down his pants and jumped on me. He used his fingers, so it wasn't a full-on rape, but it was damn close. |

| Go to your embassy and inform them what has happened. There's some other things I could tell you to do, but I dont know if I should do it here. |

| I believe the Embassy is the best choice. I think I've read that's where it says to go. Embassy + Police. |

if fingers were inserted, that is absolutely rape. Contact the police and embassy immediately. |

I think the embassy can guide one to the right places, just not act on behalf of the individual. but yes, give it a shot. |

This happens more than people admit. Last year a New Zealand woman was raped in her own apartment. She went to the police first.
They have a special victim's unit for women in every Gu for these types of crimes.
They will understand and do everything they can to help you and catch the perp.
You need to report this right away and seek help. |

Contact the police and as was said the Embassy.
All the Embassy can do is to point you in the right direction (people who can help).
Get a Korean friend to go with you when you contact the police, as translation can be needed sometimes. Your Korean friend can help you find the SVU unit in your local police station as well.
