The Jecheon International Music and Film Festival is the only one of its kind in Korea. It has a diverse and colourful array of live performance set on outdoor stages, some next to the lake and music related features and documentaries. It is this weekend and tickets are being snatched up fast by Koreans so please book at the main site quickly or refer to the following for giveways.
The festival is also offering exclusively to foreigners free tickets to its premier event the 'One Summer Night' concert series. This takes place this Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday starting of with with a cinematic feature and then closing with a variety of live music performances. The entire event is held outside on the stage right beside the beautiful Cheongpung Lake. There is no deadline for this giveway however tickets will be given on a first in first serve basis with only 20 tickets being given away each night. Please see the blog for more details and follow the instructions as to how to book: http://jimff.wordpress.com/
Also exclusively to foreign guests is the free bus leaving Seoul this Saturday (August 14) for Jecheon and returning the next day. Included in this booking is discounted accommodation however I need you to book by tomorrow (Tuesday). Please, again check the blog for more details on how to book: http://jimff.wordpress.com/

I see Bard's playing again. Anyone interested in an eclectic fusion(tm) of Celtic folk and Korean should catch this. I went to JIMFF a couple years back and caught 자우림: Definitely worth seeing. Too bad she's not back this year.
And it's in one of the most scenic parts of the country (minus JeCheon itself, which is a bit of a stinkhole.) |
