So I am looking to buy a blackberry/use my existing (unlocked) blackberry and just get a sim card in Seoul.
My questions are:
Will they sell me a simcard for an existing blackberry
Can I get BBM from korea, and have it work worldwide?
Is it expensive to sign on to a data plan?
Is SK Tel the only service provider for blackberry in korea?
To anyone who has a blackberry, or knows someone who has a blackberry... any information would help!
Thanks in advance :) |

1. I don't know 100% if they'll sell you the SIM card as long as the phone is unlocked, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
2. BBM works everywhere. I use it ALL the time.
3. Data plan isn't too terrible of the price, its the minutes that suck here.
4. Yes, SK Telecom is the only BlackBerry provider.
Hope that helps. |

| A friend of mine recently went back home and gave me his BlackBerry. It's a Korean model, so if I want to start using it, how can I get a sim? Should I just go to an SK store and buy one, if so how much would they cost? |

just go to a T World store, get a cell plan, add BIS and a data plan and your good to go.
most of the tworld store workers are morons so they will try to sell you a data plan but forget to put the BIS...you have to STRESS that you NEED BIS or it wont work.
some places wont activate it for you. They might refer you to Jongno, but you can go to Gangnam station and Wangsimni station (near the samsung service center) as well... or any place they sell blackberries... |
